Just in the nick of time, I received the extra yarn and finished the Cedar Leaf Shawlette. I gifted it yesterday, and the recipient loved it. That makes me so happy!

This was a wonderful pattern to knit. The unusual and clever construction kept it interesting, and the finished item is so elegant. The instructions are very clear, and the leaf pattern is quite straightforward. If you are a beginning lace knitter, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pattern. It would be a good introduction to a small bit of lace knitting, either by line or from a chart, to great effect. As hoped, wet blocking worked wonders, everything loosened and finally laid flat.
I hope everyone’s holidays are going swimmingly and you are finding time for fun, be that making, baking, napping, or partying! I am pleased to say that I’m now off until Jan 4th. Woohoo. We’re staying in town, going to a few do’s but mostly laying low and relaxing. I do have a small bit of work to do over the break, but from home, it’s not due until then and most importantly, it was my idea
With all the holiday knitting done, I realized I could cast on for whatever I wanted. I’m starting a Simple Things in Chasing Rainbows’ Texas mohair and a 5th Ave Infinity Scarf in Marron Oscuro Malabrigo. Yummy yummy.

What a lovely gift! As you say, it’s very elegant looking. So happy that she is happy which made you happy
It’s a happy time of year! Enjoy your break ~ I’m off tomorrow at Noon and then nothing to do Joy joy joy!
Love it, especially in the color. Lucky person who received it.
Oh Jillian the shawlette is so pretty.
Have a great holiday. I know that I’m going to spend the next week catching up on crafting (for myself)!
You did a beautiful job on this pattern! Thank you for making it!
So, so pretty. Lucky recipient!
Merry Christmas, Jillian!
It’s beautiful! I had to run right out and add it to my queue
What a wonderful gift!–I, too, added the pattern to my queue. Only I’ll make it for my own greedy self.
I love this trend for simple, yet elegant, shawls. Not-so-delayed gratification!
This is so gorgeous!
it’s so pretty! lovely job.
So pretty! I love the drape and sheen, and the short-row shaping looks very neat.
Yum! It’s gorgeous!
I’m not always into shawlettes, but this one is so lovely. You’ve modeled such excellent ways to realistically wear it. Love it!
