Yup. This is a great pattern. Not that you needed me to tell you that.
Little Pink (i.e., EZ’s February Baby Sweater)
I got to snap one quick picture before dashing off to work this morning, because I wanted to give this to T. He was so surprised and really seemed to like it. He said it was beautiful and “a classic”. It’s easy and fun to knit for those that appreciate it, n’est pas?
EZ’s pithy directions are in the Knitter’s Almanac, pretty much the best knitting item $8 can get you.
I just, and do mean just, squeaked by with one skein of Berroco Comfort in Rosebud. I used US7 needles, and thank goodness for little button stashes. I had a couple just right pearl ones that had a touch of pink iridescence.
After blocking, I realized part of the beauty of this pattern is it’s versatility for fit. If it is too big at first, it can be sort of a dress layer, then a cardi, and the garter and lace stretch quite alot, so I am betting it would continue to fit for a good spell.
Now there’s just a couple items on the needles. Having a hard time deciding what I want to start next! I think I may start some holiday gifties. Yes, that’s what I’ll do!

Sooo cute, that bubblegum pink!!
So cute. I have the book yet haven’t made that sweater. What’s wrong with me?!?!?
It’s so cute!! The contrasting edges are are nice detail.
Oh, Jillian! It’s adorable!! You did a great job, and I’m glad you made it before me! HAHAHA! I love the contrasting edges. Just so cute!
That lighter pink contrast makes it so fresh as do the shorter sleeves, I think — really cute!
It’s adorable! As you say, it will be very versatile and get lots of wear. Try and have them snap a photo of the baby with the blanket.
Holiday knits. You put me to shame. The thought hadn’t occured to me yet!
Looks great Jillian! I’ve had my eye on making one for Scout, looks like I’ll need to dig through my stash and see what I can find!
It’s so adorable!
So sweet!
I love it short sleeved with the baby pink trim! Super adorable.
That is so cute my ovaries twinged.
it’s adorable! I love the contrasting hems and the shorter sleeves…squeal!
Beautiful! P.S. Hope the bite is all healed now
Your little pink is darling, and I never complimented your big pink, but wow! It’s gorgeous, and that little kiddo will have some nice gifts when she arrives!
It’s so cute! The contrasting edging is a nice touch. And good idea about starting the holiday gift knitting….I should probably get on that too…..
I love that! It makes me wish my niece was still that size. (Instead of a ladies size 12 who wants a large black sweater for Xmas… Oy!)
Luv luv luv it! Too cute!
That’s so cute!
Adorable! I’m going to have to put this on my list for my new niece. Love the hot pink.
That is so adorable. I wouldn’t have thought to shorten the sleeves like that and I love it! It takes more inventive bloggers like you to help me see beyond the pattern sometimes.
So cute.
So cute. I love it the short sleeve version…
Bravo! Beautiful sweater that will be such an heirloom. Lucky little girl!
