Just a couple bits of knitty news. I have this bad habit of waiting to post until I have pictures even if I have other “fodder”, thinking it will be properly interesting that way, and then 1 day turns into 3, turns into a week sometimes. So, I’ve created a new category, “Hear Ye, Hear Ye” for newsy news.
For instance -
If your interest in Butternut Woolens Angora Sock Yarn was piqued, she now has it listed in her shop! This is all that will be available for a good while, and all that is left after private sales, Madrona, and the Oregon City Spring Fiber Fair. Just making sure that my knitta’s know the facts.
And if you are a Ysolda fan, you’ve probably seen Coraline. She just put it in her shop! Lovvvve. I am thinking of some Rowan Felted Tweed in Herb. Will it have enough drape, do you think? It does have alpaca. Hmmmm.
Finally, thank you all the kind words for Nonnahs and my small contribution. In retrospect, I realized that post could have been perceived as a “look what I did” post, which was not at all what was intended. In truth, to avoid such a misunderstanding, I generally do not post at all about such things. However, in this case I was so struck by the serendipity factor that I posted all about that without thinking of how it could be otherwise be perceived.
I was struck by this situation where when none of the plethora of potential self-made knitting choices seemed to satisfy, some cosmic, karmic, something or other served up a perfect knitting choice for me. Twice! Three times really if you count my great-nephew’s new little mitts. I have them done up, BTW, but have to get pictures.
Off to work! And then the weekend

I think that was an incredibly generous thing for you to do – and in no way could your post have been perceived as self congratulory (sp?). Good idea about the newsy topic heading. I love the Corinne sweater if it’s the one I’m thinking of (‘m on dial-up today so couldn’t download to be sure) I would love to see it in the Felted Tweed – love that yarn!
I love that Coraline sweater too! I have to think about what tweedy yarn I have that would be great in that pattern.
ooh, I’m away from the blogreading for a minute (or, okay, several months), and you get all new digs! Fantastic!
Love Coraline too — and I’ve been looking for a pattern to make up in the “pickle” color of Felted Tweed…
weekend !!! love you and my pips !!!!
Did someone leave a negative comment about your serendipity knitting? I can’t imagine anyone thinking that it was nothing more than pure wonderful magic in a knitting and giving kind of way.
I took a spinning clinic Saturday about spinning with Angora. I must confess I’m quite anxious to someday be able to spin my own Angora blend sock yarn for those super cold days. I hear the warming properties of Angora are amazing.
